Just sitting here kicking around the web tonight. My tendencies are much like how a guy watches TV…going from site to site at a rapid pace waiting for something to catch my eye. A quick scan of the headlines at each site and I was changing channels as if Oprah or Rosie O’Donnell were on every channel. Nothing was catching my eye. Finally something grabbed my attention…Cheat Sheets for Responders and Server Administrators. Hmmm, figured I better give this a looksie. The title is self explanatory so I don’t see a need to re-invent the wheel. I will reference the cheat sheets for easy reference for myself in the future. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve used BITW as a reference I’d have roughly $17.
Security Incident Survey Cheat Sheet for Server Administrators
Initial Security Incident Questionnaire for Responders
I think those are a couple of real gems and I’m damn glad I took the time to read them. Here is another thing I’m damn glad I read recently. A six part article on Windows x64. Some very good information in there.
Finally…how is this even possible? How do a couple of speed boats with pirates hijack a cruise ship? Couldn’t you send out security with high powered rifles and just pick them off from the topless sundeck or the driving range? You are 5 stories above the water. Maybe I’m over simplifying it. Or maybe I’m amazed that there are still actually pirates. Its one or the other.
